Purpose of the Study: We aim to understand how researchers integrate Generative AI tools into their workflows, assess their AI competen , evaluate institutional support, and determine the impact on research productivity and quality.

Confidentiality: No personal contact information will be collected during the survey; all responses are completely anonymous. The survey data will be securely stored on password-protected computers and hosted on encrypted servers at McMaster University. Access to the anonymized data is limited to authorized research team members only. The data will be used exclusively for analyzing the use and impact of Generative AI tools in academic research. Additionally, anonymized data may be shared with journal reviewers or made available upon reasonable request if required for publication verification purposes. In accordance with common institutional practices and ethical guidelines, the anonymized data will be retained for a minimum of 7 years after the publication of the study results, ensuring that it remains available for verification or review if necessary.
