The nonoperative management of phalangeal fractures may depend on various factors, such as fracture characteristics, patient-specific considerations, and surgeon preferences. Although general principles exist, there is no widely accepted consensus on optimal rehabilitation plans within this context.
The purpose of this survey is to characterize current practice patterns in the nonoperative management of phalangeal fractures among Canadian plastic surgeons. Specifically, this study aims to examine variation in rehabilitation strategies, including immobilization methods/duration, initiation of active/passive range of motion exercises, recommendations for return to activity, and discharge/referral timings. The results will help identify areas of variability and support future research aimed at establishing evidence-based rehabilitation protocols.
Participation in this survey is voluntary. The survey is expected to take approximately 10 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous, and no identifying personal information will be collected. Data will be reported in aggregate form only and used for research purposes.
