We would like to request your participation in completing a survey regarding the interpretation of treatment effect estimates from systematic reviews.
We are interested in understanding how health professionals interpret these treatment effects and the conclusions they derive when they encounter such results in their clinical practice. The broader goal of this survey is to understand how we can best communicate findings around treatment effects with wide confidence intervals.
In each question, we provide a summary effect estimate from a hypothetical systematic review and meta-analysis, and ask you to choose the answer that you think is most accurate or reflects the best interpretation of the study results.
Please note we are not interested in formal judgments regarding certainty of the evidence using GRADE or other similar frameworks for rating certainty; rather, we are interested in the general interpretation of the results.
This survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. No further assessments or follow-ups are involved with participation in this survey, and all responses are kept confidential and anonymous (unless you voluntarily provide your name in text responses).
