Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health and well-being of McMaster University students

My name is Veronica Zhu (400135543) and I am an undergraduate student taking ENVSCOTY 3MA3 Research Methods this semester that's taught by Dr. Gita Ljubicic and the teaching assistant for this course is Shaila Jamal. For the pilot research project in this course, I am interested in exploring the mental health of post-secondary students since it has been a rising concern and the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has placed this vulnerable population into renewed focus. This survey will provide data to examine the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health and well-being of McMaster University students. It will explore the five geographic themes and their potential influences on mental health, as well as developing strategies for students to effectively cope with mental health stressors associated with the pandemic. It will take approximately 5 to 6 minutes of your time to participate in this survey. A level of confidentiality with your survey responses will be ensured, only Dr. Gita Ljubicic, Shaila Jamal, and I will have access to your responses. Since mental health is a sensitive topic, if you feel uncomfortable participating, please feel free to leave the survey at any time. If you need additional support, contact the helplines below:
